Praise God for the blessings that walked in the door this week. I continue to remain speechless at the timing of His provision and just how interested He is in the details of my life.
Turnaround season is upon us and while the land appears to be flowing with milk and honey the opportunities Satan has to walk around and devour me masks the picturesque landscape. Tempers are short, expectations can be unrealistic, and no one seems to really care what else you have going on. This season will test the best of us and the strongest of us, and few will walk away unscathed.
The normal workday for me hosts two main priorities - honoring God and washing the customers feet and I cannot tell you how hard both of these activities are when the client on the other side of the table has decided you will be the target for the day. My daily prayer and plea is to look more like Christ and live out the beatitudes, displaying the fruits of the spirit. But on the contrary, during most of these pressure cooker situations, my feet are firmly planted in the world and my response is one of entitlement and pride, especially when I try to justify my position and defense to that same client.
Praise Jesus Christ alone for what He willingly did on the cross for my so undeserving soul. This land may be brimming with decadence, but it pales in comparison to what is coming and for this sinner, my eyes and my heart remain vertically perplexed as His arrival can’t be soon enough.
