‘Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.’ Psalm 100:3
The God of the Bible is not merely one of a plethora of gods from which we may pick and choose to worship nor is He to be put on par with other supposed deities. He is the omnipotent Creator and Redeemer of mankind. He is the source of Living Water and Daily Bread.
The Creator has revealed Himself in both science and history, and the two subjects are intertwined. It is just as wrong to leave God out of the study of bacteria and volcanoes as it is to leave Him out of the rise and fall of nations, the extinction of dinosaurs or your job displacement. God made everything and He sustains everything.
Driving in this morning and having some one on one time with Jesus I was reminded that if my idea of God is not in line with what God and the Bible say then I begin every day getting dressed incorrectly. My ideas and motivations may be good but that does not mean they’re right.
In a world of opinions, false teaching, entitlement and a me-first pandemic it is imperative that us believers resist these irregularities, stay within the guard rails of the Bible and shine a light in our dark world.
Keep on keeping on brothers and sisters. The tomb is empty!
