Jesus said, ‘You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.’ John 1:50
In my own life I make choices, most of the time, based on what I can see. I may take a different path simply based on the security of what my eyes can see versus the risk of what they cannot. Because I know where my help comes from and where my salvation lies these decisions are usually good. But, they are not great.
One of the first miracles we see in scripture is Jesus turning water into wine. In order for the wine to be the very best it can be obedience is required from the servants to ‘go get the water’.
How many times do I rush the miracle of God because my timing is not His and I want it now. Because He is a good father He gives good gifts. But how much greater could those gifts be if I were obedient, retrieving the water when He asks me to.
Be encouraged brothers and sisters. God’s timing is perfect and His promises are true. As followers we can rest assured our eternity is in heaven. And, like the perfect wine served at the wedding, God will deliver the very best when we are obedient to His commands.
